Setting up your crew members in Rentman

When getting started with Rentman, you need to add or import your crew members to the Rentman database. Before doing this, you need to create your own folder structure so that you can keep a good overview of your crew.

You can add your crew members manually in the Crew members module, or import all of your crew at once by uploading a Crew members file (Excel or .CSV) that contains all of their information.

When your crew members are in the database, you can choose to group them by using tags.-

Create the right folder structure

A good folder structure is essential to stay organized and find your information faster. In Rentman, you are free to set your own folder structure in the Crew members module, like this:

We advise setting up a logical and consistent folder structure in the the Equipment, Contacts, Crew members and Vehicles modules before you start adding or importing your data.

Add or import your crew members

When getting started with Rentman, you need to add or import your crew members into the Rentman database. With your crew in our secure database, you can invite a crew member for a function, keep track of their response, send them the project planning, and register their hours in the Time registration module.

Add your crew members

You can add your crew to the Rentman database in the Crew members module. You supply basic information about your crew member in the Data tab and configure their salary rate in the Rates tab. Click on the header above to read our dedicated article about adding crew  members.

Import your crew members

You can import a .xlsx (Excel) or .csv file that contains all information about your crew members. After importing, your crew members will be added to the Rentman database. Click on the header above to read our dedicated article about importing crew members, including step-by-step instructions and an import template that you can use as an example.

Group your crew members

If you want to group your crew members, you can use tags to give a specific label to a crew member. To group a number of crew members, simply assign the same tag to them.

You can create tags for specific skills of a crew member.

It's not possible to group your crew members by using the folder structure, because it's only designed to store your crew members in the Rentman database.
