When getting started with Rentman, you need to add or import your vehicles to the Rentman database. Before doing this, you need to create your own folder structure so that you can keep a good overview of your vehicles.
You can add your vehicles manually in the Vehicles module, or import all of your vehicles at once by uploading a vehicles file (Excel or .CSV) that contains all of their information.
When your vehicles are in the database, you can choose to group them by using tags.-
Create the right folder structure
A good folder structure is essential to stay organized and find your information faster. In Rentman, you are free to set your own folder structure in the Vehicles module, like this:
We advise setting up a logical and consistent folder structure in the the Equipment, Contacts, Crew members and Vehicles modules before you start adding or importing your data.
Add or import your vehicles
When getting started with Rentman, you need to add or import your vehicles into the Rentman database. With your vehicles in our secure database, you can choose and reserve the right vehicles for transporting equipment to a project.
You can add your vehicles to the Rentman database in the Vehicles module. When adding a vehicle, you supply basic information about your vehicles such as its name, registration number, load capacity and MOT date. Click on the header above to read our dedicated article about adding vehicles.
You can import a .xlsx (Excel) or .csv file that contains all information about your vehicles. After importing, your vehicles will be added to the Rentman database. Group your vehicles
If you want to group your vehicles, you can use tags to give a specific label to a vehicle. To group a number of vehicles, simply assign the same tag to them.
You can create tags for specific properties of a vehicle.
It's not possible to group your vehicles by using the folder structure, because it's only designed to store your vehicles in the Rentman database.
