You can change the type of an equipment item (item/kit/case) when it's not planned on any project. You first need to duplicate the item, and then archive the original one. This ensures that the original item still exists in all projects that it was planned on previously.
You can't change the type of planned equipment items, because this would affect your project(s) and potentially cause issues with availability, packing slips, and statistics. For example, if you change a kit to an item, all content of the kit would be deleted from your projects. This will cause issues on projects and documents where the kit was planned on.
Change the type
- Select an item in the Equipment module, click More options , and choose Duplicate.
- Change the type of your item, and save your changes.
A new equipment item has been added to the Equipment module.
- Select the original equipment item, click More options , and choose Archive.
The original item has now been moved to the Archive tab in the Equipment module, and cannot be planned on projects anymore.
From now on, you must use the new equipment item when planning your projects.
