How can I track crew compensation in Rentman?

How can I track my crew's compensation if Rman acts as my main placeholder for compensation for events but doesn't allow me to export it nor mark those crew members as paid?

Am I supposed to manually keep a second record of that information in a 3rd party accounting software?

It seems that it would be so easy for you guys to include a feature just to mark a crew member as PAID or not, or at the very least, allow an excel export of a weeks events together or at the very very least, export project per project.

Right now, using Rman to enter crew members compensations for events and keeping track just seems like an incomplete and redundant tasks that can easily lead to massive mistakes due to manually copying that information over to another software for processing.

I understand that Rman isn't an accounting software, but it acts like one in so many ways, why not just finish off the last couple features to make it all inclusive?

Also, why is it that I cannot see company profits anywhere in the program without, again, manually tallying up?

  • I agree.

We do think that the Personal tool is very useful for inviting workers to jobs and projects. But we would like to see, that we are able to confirm the worked hours, before paying and also to keep track of Payments, Vocations, and sickness, etc

    Now to answer your questions:

    1. How am I supposed to track my crew's compensation if Rman acts as my main placeholder for compensation for events but doesn't allow me to export it nor mark those crew members as paid?

This is a good question. Most users of Rentman use time registration since the times planned for an event do not match the hours planned for an event. They then export the time registration to excel or to a administration program to manage the payments.

We do see also quite some users who would like functionality to be able to have an quicker overview of the hours worked for different events over a certain period of time. This would be a new screen to build and would cost quite some time. We have thought about this but have not planned it.

Your wish would add to that screen the option to mark as paid. The difficulty here is going to much into the direction of crew administration. There are all kinds of functionalities in this territory we do not want to get into, minimum wages, minimum rest time, holidays etc. all of these differ in the 50+ different countries Rentman is present. Another issue here is that many users want slightly different things to get an idea of the different ideas you could put it in the wishlist and see if other users agree.

    2. It seems that it would be so easy for you guys to include a feature just to mark a crew member as PAID or not, or at the very least, allow an excel export of a weeks events together or at the very very least, export project per project.

It might seem but designing, planning, building, launching, documenting, supporting, fixing and updating functionality always takes some time. Building half functionality is not a good solution since there are always parts connected to it. Another issue here is that this might make perfect sense to you but another users wants something slightly different. If we would build all of these simple things Rentman would be full of columns and buttons everywhere.

We are happy to look into the functionality to make it easier for you. Please share what you would like in the wishlist and we are happy to align what users want, design and build it.

    4. Also, why is it that I cannot see company profits anywhere in the program without, again, manually tallying up?

The statistics module shows profits. For projects showing profits are on the planning to add next to the revenue and different cost columns already available.
