No, it is not mandatory to remove extra items from your combination. If you let it stay in the combination, the contents will get added to the project the next time you scan the combination.
However, there is no way to remove the extra items automatically, and you have to remove them manually:
- Navigate to the Serial numbers tab of the combination.
- Double-click on a serial number with “Extra” status to open it.
- Go to the Actual content tab of the serial number.
- If the serial number is sealed, break the seal.
- Adjust the content.
- (Optional) Seal the combination.
