Rentman's document template editor is a core part of project planning process. The document editor enables you to create invoices, quotes, packing slips and more!

In this article, we explore the different default documents templates you have in your workspace library, where you can find them, what they do and best practices.

What is a system template?

In Rentman, the document template library provides customers with pre-made system templates that you can use to generate immediately without any prior set up. They can not be deleted and must be duplicated to edit.

Instead of starting from a blank document, use a document template as a starting off point to speed up your document customization!

We provide a template for the following document types:
  • Reminder
  • Packing Slip
  • Combination Slip
  • Contract
  • Invoice
  • Quotation
  • Repair Slip
  • Vehicle Slip
  • Subrental Slip

Where can I access my document template library?

When you first start in Rentman, the templates in your workspace should only consist of the pre-made system templates that we provide. If you do delete any system templates, you can easily recover them with the instructions below:

  1. Go to settings Configuration Module > Document Templates.
  2. Select Template Library at the top right corner.
  3. Select the language > checkbox the document types you want to recover.
  4. Add

Best Practices

  • Create as many document templates as you need. You can have multiple different versions of the same document type that can be used for different reasons. For example, you have two packing slip documents, one only displays rental equipment and the other, sale equipment.
  • Instead of starting from a blank document, use a document template as a starting off point to speed up your document customization!
  • Delete the system templates if you do not need them. You can always recover them whenever you need. Less clutter if you have a lot of templates!

FAQ

Why do I have to duplicate a system template before editing?
The system template serves as a reference point. Duplicating them before editing ensures you have a fallback in case you want to start over.
