The Views feature in Rentman saves and combines your filters, tags, columns, date range and more under one name. This lets you quickly access and apply saved datasets in the overview, making it easier to quickly display the information you need.
Where can I create my Views?
Views can be accessed in any grid overview with columns in Rentman. Let's start in the table_chart Projects Module
- Select the table_chart Projects Module
- Find the button Views, just under the Filters and Tags button
- Select Views > + Create New View
- In the table_chart Projects Module's View you can save and combine:
- Date
- Tags
- Project Status
- Filters
- Columns
- Enter the name of the View and adjust your visibility
- Save
Certain overviews in other modules offer different options when creating a View. Take a look at the Views options in the category Equipment Module for an example.
Reuse and merge your previously saved Presets and Columnsets as a single View
All saved Presets and Columnsets created before this Views update will be transferred over as a saved View. You can then access these previously saved presets or columnsets and merge them to create a more detailed View. Here's how you can do that:
- Navigate to the module of your choice, select the Views button, specifically select a saved Preset
- Migrated presets or columnsets in your Views show up as "Preset:" or "Columnset:"
- Once you selected the saved Preset, now select the Columnset you want merge with
- Click on +Create New View
- The View now combines the the Preset and Columnset you have chosen previously to create a single View
Filters
Filters are useful to search or narrow down the selection within a module. For example, use them to find a specific contact/invoice, or narrow down the selection of projects/equipment items. By adding the filters to your views, you can instantly switch between different filter selections at any time.
To add a filter:
- Click in the top right on filter_list Filters expand_more
- Choose a filter from the list.
- Click Add
Any custom filter that you add is immediately active. To disable it, you need to delete it at the top of the table or click on "Clear all filters" in filter_list Filters expand_more.
Period or Date
Use the date selection to choose the timeframe of the elements you want to see displayed. Select "Start/end" to choose a period between specific dates or select a time period by clicking on one of the other options.
Tags
Tags are labels that you can use to group your projects, equipment items, contacts, crew members, vehicles, invoices and tasks. First, you add a tag to your item(s) in a module. Afterwards, you can filter the shown items in a module by selecting your tag in the top right at label Tags expand_more.
Columns
