With project types you can make sure that you load the right settings in a project and later on distinguish between these types in your overviews and statistics. This article will explain you how to set up your project templates and project types and how to use them.-

Project types

For every project you also choose a project type. With project types you can distinguish between different kind of projects. Every project type can have a different set up like a specific quotation template and invoice template that is used by default as well as a standard letterhead.

By using project types you can easily have the right settings for your project. This also makes it easy for you to differentiate between certain types of projects in your overview and in statistics.

Add a project type

  1. Go to the settings Configuration module > Settings > Project types
  2. Click  + Add project type

You can fill in the following information:

  • Name - Give this project type a name like "Dry hire", "Sale" or "Festival"
  • Warehouse packing slip template - Choose the default packing slip template that should be used for projects with this project type.
  • Quotation template - Choose the default quotation template that should be used for projects with this project type.
  • Contract template - Choose the default contract template that should be used for projects with this project type.
  • Invoice template - Choose the default invoice template that should be used for projects with this project type.
  • Letterhead - Select the default letterhead that should be used for projects with this project type.
  • Invoice moment - Select a default invoice moment for projects with this project type.
  • Number series - Choose the default number series for quotations, contracts, invoices and credit notes that should be used for projects with this project type.
  • Additional conditions - Choose the default additional conditions that should be used for projects with this project type.
  • Color - Choose a color for this project type. This is useful to quickly identify what type a project is in the overview of thetable_chart Projects module.

Use project types

When creating a new project you also define a project type. Project types can help you to filter or sort the overview in the table_chart Projects module so that you can (for example) only show projects with the project type "Dry hire". This way you can also have a look at your poll Statistics module and see which project type generates the highest revenue.
