In this article, we provide an overview of the steps to get your vehicles into Rentman and edit them so you can choose and reserve the right vehicles for transporting equipment to a project location.

Create the right folder structure

A good folder structure is essential to stay organized and find your information faster. In Rentman, you are free to set your own folder structure in the local_shipping Vehicles module.

Add vehicles

Adding your vehicles is useful when you want to add a single (or small number) of vehicles to the Rentman database.

  1. Go to the local_shipping Vehicles module.
  2. Select  + Add vehicle
  3. Fill in the information, such as the fields Registration numberSeats and Display in planner.
    Display in plannerIf you select "Yes", this vehicle will be displayed in the planner and can be planned on a vehicle function. If you select "No", the vehicle will not be shown and cannot be planned. This is useful for vehicles that you still own, but don't use anymore.
  4. Save

Import your vehicles

Importing your vehicles is useful when you want to add all (or a large number) of vehicles at once. This works by uploading your .xlsx file (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) that contains a complete list of your vehicles.

Edit a vehicle

  1. Go to the local_shipping Vehicles module.
  2. Double-click an existing vehicle to edit their information.
  3. Save

Group your vehicles

It may be useful to group your vehicles, for example vehicles of the same type (truck, van, car). You can do this by assigning the same tag to vehicles.
