The Equipment Times update goes live in mid-October. You have already seen what is changing, so here is what it means depending on your role, so you and your team know exactly what to look for.

If you plan the category Equipment

Bottom line: you get more flexibility in how you schedule your equipment.

Set individual planning and usage periods.
Say your projectors aren't needed until day three of a build: give them their own planning time, and they stay available to rent out on other projects until then, rather than following the whole equipment group's dates. In the Equipment tab, click the Planning period or Usage period cell on any line to set an individual time, or select several items and use the bulk-edit action in the toolbar.

Once new time has been added, it will appear in the 'Time schedule' tab of the project.

Items you don't touch keep following the group's default period, so you only set a time where something needs to deviate.

If you run the warehouse Warehouse

Bottom line: your crew packs by the day, not only the whole job.

Packing lists (tiles in the Warehouse module) split by date. Rentman now creates a packing list (tiles) for every unique pickup or return date in a subproject, so on a five-day build your crew opens the warehouse Warehouse module and sees only what goes out today.

So if you have several packing moments for the same (sub)project, you'd see a different tile per packing moment, each carrying the same (sub)project name.

Statuses now live per packing list. Confirmed, Prepped, On location, Returned, and any custom statuses you use now apply per packing list rather than to the whole subproject and a packing list only appears in the warehouse once its subproject is marked ready to pack.

A separate warehouse permission lets specific user roles see all packing moments regardless of ready-to-pack status - useful for warehouse managers who need full visibility of what's coming up.

It's switched on for every user role by default at launch, so your warehouse overview won't suddenly look emptier unless you choose to restrict it later. You will be able find it under Configuration -> User roles -> Warehouse

Print a packing slip per packing list so the paper matches the screen. Your existing document templates keep working exactly as they are, and this new packing slip type sits alongside them so you can print one specifically for each packing moment. So esentially, packing lists become their own document type so you can print one per packing lists. There will be a default template, which you can change to suit the project's needs. If an item shouldn't go out after all - damaged, over-ordered - mark it as 'Remove from project' in the booking screen (permission-based).

If you manage table_chart Projects

Bottom line: cleaner quotes and a clearer view of every project.

Cleaner quotes. Items with different times can now share one equipment group, keeping quotes clean and easy for clients to read.
Subproject status is now project-management-only. Custom warehouse statuses can no longer be used to represent where a project stands; they simply won't appear in the status dropdown in the Projects module anymore.
The (sub)project status becomes a project-management status only, and it picks up three new statuses: In progress, Execution done and Complete.

During the launch, existing (sub)projects will automatically move to a new status. Any warehouse status other than "Returned" (such as Prepped, On location, or a custom status) will change to "In progress", and "Returned" will change to "Execution done".

Booked equipment keeps its current status, so the migration doesn't affect any equipment that's already booked out.

New warehouse progress indicator. Sits alongside project status - grey when a project isn't in the warehouse yet, green when on track, red when a packing list is running behind.

If you use the API

Bottom line: no action required right away, but plan ahead. If your integration doesn't use the endpoints listed below, no action is needed.

All changes below are already live and fully backwards compatible, so nothing breaks immediately. Deprecated paths and parameters will be removed in Q4 2026.

What's changing:

Change 1: Project and warehouse statuses are being split

The status field of the /subprojects endpoint currently handles both project and warehouse statuses. These are being split into two endpoints: /projectstatuses and /warehousestatuses. Both are already available and documented at api.rentman.net.

The new project statuses 'In progress', 'Execution done' and 'Completed' aren't visible in the API yet. They will become available under /projectstatuses after the release on 19 October 2026.

Change 2: /projectequipmentgroup planning fields are moving

Six planning and duration fields are moving from /projectequipmentgroup to /projectequipment, where they now exist at the individual item level:

planperiod_start, planperiod_end, usageperiod_start, usageperiod_end, is_delayed & duration

Until Q4 2026, these fields return the same values in both places, so nothing breaks immediately. After that, they will only be available on /projectequipment. If you or your development team maintain an integration, update it to read planning data from /projectequipment ahead of time.

Change 3: Offset-based pagination is being deprecated

The offset query parameter is being replaced by cursor-based pagination, which is already available today. Cursor-based pagination is faster and returns consistent results even when data changes between requests.

New field: ready_to_pack

With the release, a new field ready_to_pack will be added at subproject level. Learn more about marking a subproject ready to pack.

API Timeline

Now: all three changes are available.
19 October 2026: the new project statuses appear under /projectstatuses, and the ready_to_pack field is added to subprojects.
Q4 2026: deprecated paths and parameters are removed. Integrations that haven't been updated by then will break.

FAQs

Will the API documentation for the new endpoints be published before the release?

Yes. It's already available. /projectstatuses and /warehousestatuses are documented at api.rentman.net, so you can start migrating now. The only API change still to come with the release is the new ready_to_pack field on subprojects.

Does this mean project rollovers also go out on the same day?

Rollovers aren't part of this update, but they're next on our roadmap for both planning and the Warehouse module - more to come soon.
