That workaround is no longer necessary - it is now a built-in toggle.
From October 26, 2026, a built-in 'Ready to pack' toggle sits in the 'Equipment' tab of every (sub)project, in place of any custom status you used before.
Note: Currently in limited release. Available once your account is on version 551.
Leave the toggle off while you are still finalizing the equipment plan. The warehouse overview will not show that subproject’s packing lists yet, so nobody starts packing too early.
Turn it on once the plan is locked, and the packing lists become visible to your warehouse team.
How to mark a (sub)project as “Ready to pack”
- In your project, navigate to the Equipment tab.
- Click the arrow▼next to the Book equipment button.
- Click the (sub)project to switch it from Not ready to pack to Ready to pack.
Good to know
Select a project as soon as its equipment planning is final. The warehouse only sees packing lists for projects marked ready to pack.
Warehouse module permission
There is a separate permission that lets certain warehouse roles see every packing list regardless of the toggle.
This is on by default for all roles from October 19, 2026, so check your account’s permissions if you want to restrict it.
- Go to the 'Configuration' module -> User roles and click on Edit.
- Navigate to the 'Warehouse module' permissions.
- Find the permission called “Able to see packing lists in the warehouse module for subprojects that are not yet ready to pack”.
- Check the box to enable it, or leave it unchecked to restrict access.
- Click Save.
Your custom warehouse statuses are not going away - they keep working exactly as before, just applied to packing lists only instead of the whole subproject.
