In Rentman, we offer history logs to help you keep track of changes across various modules:

  • Projects History Log
  • Equipment History LogEquipment Scheduling Pro
  • Contacts History LogEquipment Scheduling ProCrew Scheduling Pro
  • Crew Members History LogCrew Scheduling Pro

These history logs provide a detailed overview of changes made in Rentman, allowing you to monitor and manage your workspace with ease. It shows what was changed, who did it, and when. As an example, it helps you see any adjustments made to a project, like any changes in the planning of equipment. This way, you can easily spot and understand any changes, making it simpler to manage your business via Rentman.

How it works

Projects History Log
The Projects History Log allows you to monitor changes within a project by displaying what was altered, who made the changes, and when they occurred. This provides transparency and accountability, helping you manage projects more effectively.

Equipment History Log
The Equipment History Log tracks the usage, maintenance, and repairs of all equipment, providing detailed insights into the complete history of changes made to any equipment item. This history log ensures that equipment is properly maintained and replaced when necessary, helping you keep your inventory in optimal condition.
Please note that you can only see the history log for equipment only if you have Equipment Scheduling ProEquipment Scheduling Pro
Currently, it is offered as part of a feature trial, available for a limited time. We're excited to let you explore this feature during the trial period! At the end of the trial, access to this feature will no longer be available through the current licenses. However, we're working on future ways to make this feature accessible, and we'll notify you via email in advance about any changes.

Contacts History Log
The Contacts History Log provides a detailed history of changes made to a contact, including updates to contact-specific information. This history log offers a comprehensive overview of all correspondence, meetings, and agreements made with your contacts.
Please note that you can only see the history log for contacts only if you have Crew Scheduling ProCrew Scheduling Pro or Equipment Scheduling ProEquipment Scheduling Pro

Crew Members History Log
The Crew Members History Log tracks changes made to crew member data, showing who made the changes and when. This history log does not include changes made to the crew member's schedule.
Please note that you can only see the history log for crew members only if you have Crew Scheduling ProCrew Scheduling Pro

In the history log, you can find an organized list of changes per save. The changes made within each save are then grouped by where they were made.

The Saves section On the left side, shows all saves grouped by 1-hour intervals and the user that made the changes. 
The Changes section

On the right, shows, per save, if something has been:

  • added_oyeah.pngAdded
  • added.pngModified
  • Deleted.png Deleted

Organization

The changes are shown on different levels: 

Tab The top level shows the tab where the change has been made (e.g, General, Time schedule, date, etc.)
Group If the change was made to a group (e.g. equipment group in project) or to an item (e.g. equipment item in project), the group will be the next level that is displayed.
Item If the change was made to an item, the item will be displayed in the next level.
Field The final level shows which field inside the item was changed.

The changes

The old value (before the change was made) and the new value (value after the change was made) can be viewed in dedicated columns.

FAQs

Why don't I see changes from before activating the history log?
Due to the large amount of data that is involved in tracking every change in thousands of accounts, changes are only tracked after the history log is activated for an account.
