Why the crew and vehicle list is useful
The crew and vehicle lists are a new features that make it easier for crew planners to find the right crew members and vehicles to plan on different functions of a project. Not every crew member is relevant for every job, and with this functionality, crew planners can easily find which crew members are fit for specific jobs based on tags, crew members' availability, and existing assignments within the project. Using smart suggestions, this feature significantly enhances the planning process, providing crew planners with a comprehensive overview.
The crew and vehicle lists seamlessly facilitate planning, particularly when using dual-screen mode. Previously, the page used to display a cluttered layout with all the information crammed together. However, now, with the ability to split the crew planner into two pages, coupled with the convenient "click to plan" option, the process of resource planning for an event becomes remarkably faster and simpler. Now, the selection of the time period, selection of the function, “click to plan” and selection of planning in final or draft are all synced and work perfectly using multiple screens.
Getting started with the crew and vehicle lists
This functionality includes four new lists in the crew planner, visible in the crew grid:
- Current selection shows the crew members who are selected in the crew members list on the left side of the screen or in the list that pops up when clicking onmagnifying glass button.
- Planned in projectCrew Schedulingshows all the crew members who are planned in the project of the selected function.
- Available shows all crew members who are available at the time of the selected function.Note: Crew members with time reservations appear first on the list, followed by available crew members and then crew members whose availability is unknown.
- Matching tagsCrew Schedulingshows all crew members who have the same tags as the tags of the selected function. Note: If you haven't added tags to your crew and (default) functions, all the crew members are displayed when the Matching tags list is selected. This list properly functions when the tags for (default) functions and crew members are the same.
How to add tags to functions
- Navigate to thetable_chart Projects module, open a project and go to the Crew and transport tab.
- Select a function from the menu on the left and click on edit Edit button.
- Under Tags, add new tags or edit existing ones. You can add multiple tags to each function.
Moreover, with this functionality, the crew grid can be opened on a separate tab, improving planning visibility and allowing users to work in dual-screen mode. Just simply click on to open the crew grid in a new tab and start work in dual-screen mode.
This crew grid responds to all actions in the function grid: the selection of a function, the switch from final to draft planning, the selection of a time period, and the other way around: when a crew member is planned on a function by click to plan.
