In Rentman, you have the option to add your equipment items by importing an equipment file. This article guides you through the process of importing your equipment list into Rentman.

You can import all the equipment separately, but it is also possible to import the content of your combinations.

Essentially, you can import equipment into combinations by making it a default content.

How to import the content of your combination

1. Go to the category Equipment module.
   
2. Click on the arrow button in the right corner, and select Import content for combinations.

   Update default content in combinations	You create new default content and update the existing default content of your combination. Default content in your combination that is missing from the import file remain unchanged.
   Overwrite default content in combinations	The existing default content of the combinations overwritten by default content from the import file. Content that is in the combination but not in the import file will be deleted.

4. If you do not want to create a file from scratch, you can download the generated template file by clicking on "Download a sample file here" in Rentman. 
5. We highly recommend using the sample file provided because it will export all combinations and contents from your database to the sample file. Making the import process easier. 
6. In the sample file, you will see four sheets as tabs at the bottom of the excel:

7. 'How to use' sheet	Provides a brief description with a template along with columns that you can use for your import. Be sure to follow the example on this page for a smooth import.
   'Import' sheet	This is the actual import sheet where you select a combination from the drop-down list with its content.
   'Combinations' sheet	The list of your combinations. They will also appear in the drop-down list in "Import" sheet.
   'Content' sheet	The list of all your equipment items.

8. Make sure to read the instructions on the 'How to use' tab of excel. It provides an example of how the combination import structure should be. 
9. Now match the contents with the combinations in the 'Import' tab of the excel. There is no need to manually enter the combination and content information. A drop down is now available for you to easily select the equipment.
10. After finalizing the import sheet, select next step. 
11. Select if your file contains a header, or not. If you select yes, the first row of your file will not be imported. 
12. For each column, the system matches the header names with the column names in Rentman. Check if all matches have been correctly made, and adjust where necessary. 
13. Click "Next step" when you've done this for all columns.
14. Check your data in the preview. 
15. Click Import 
16. After the import has finished, a window will pop up with the results. If your data has been imported successfully, you can Close the window, or choose to "View imported equipment".
