Difference between Project Status and Equipment Status in the Warehouse

In Rentman, project planners are able to determine when equipment should be scanned in the warehouse  Warehouse Module by toggling the status of the project. Once a project's status is toggled to confirmed, all equipment within that project is now bookable within the warehouse.

As the equipment enter the warehouse process, each equipment now has their own status, separate from the project. This ensures each equipment is accounted for so no equipment is left behind and lost.

Editing the project status in project module will not move the equipment in the warehouse

Why do we separate the statuses?

The main reason we split up the statuses between project and equipment is for trackability.

For example, if you rent out 10 pieces of equipment and 5 needs to be returned early, those 5 equipment will have a status of returned while the project itself may still be ongoing with a status of on location.

If all equipment within a project is controlled by the status of the project, the lack of flexibility would cause major issues. Rarely are all equipment on one status at a time. They are usually spread out between multiple different statuses depending on the project's timeline.

How do I ensure no equipment is left behind on a status?

When moving equipment from one status to another, if you successfully move every equipment, a pop up will appear asking you to manually change the project status.

If you receive this pop up, you have successfully moved all equipment from one status to the next without leaving anything behind. If you don't receive this pop up, most likely there is still an equipment left behind.

How do I know what status my equipment is currently on?
Whatever the status your equipment is currently on in your warehouse is the status that is currently assigned
