While actively working on a project, it is important to keep track of all
communications
with your crew members, teams, and contacts. As the communication hub for
your
projects, Rentman centralizes all messages, giving you better visibility
over
what is sent and to whom.
In this article, we explain which tools are available to help you keep track
of your communication and what information you can find in them.
Real life scenarios
Easier tracking of communication with your crew members
You are working on a project, and you are not sure whether you have
sent
the planning to one of the crew members or not. In the Data
tab of the crew member, you can easily navigate to all the communications
that have been sent to them.
Clear communication with your customers
While on the phone with your client, they say they have not received
the project quotation. In the Communication module, you
can
see when the quotation was sent and provide them with the exact date
and time.
Message received
You have not heard anything from your customer since you sent them
the
invoice last week. To make sure they received it, you check the status
of the communication in the overview of the Data tab of
your
customer’s contact.
The Communication module
Note: The access to the dvr Communication module is always enabled. Nevertheless, users should have appropriate rights and access to the information available in this module. This can be done through the settings Configuration module. For more details on communication permissions, check out this article.
The Communication Log sub-module shows all the communication going out of your account. You can filter the communications by recipients, types of message and channels.
Recipients
Any of your crew members and contacts (and contact persons) registered
in the
people Crew members module
and
contact_phone Contacts module.

The Communication widgets
You can find a Communication widget in the Data tab of both your crew members and your contacts. The widget will show you the communications sent to the crew member / contact.
For each communication, it is possible to see:
The subject line.
The status of the communication: Sent / Pending / Sending failed.
You can view the status only for emails, not for other types of communications.
The beginning of the message (hovering over the communication displays a pop-up with the full message).
The date it was sent.
FAQs
Can I filter messages by project in the Communication Log sub-module?
Not at the moment. However, this may
be possible in a future
version.
What is the difference between the Communication Log sub-module and the Sent Emails sub-module?
The Communication Log sub-module
gives
you a broader overview of all outgoing
communications from your
workspace—for
example, appointments created or repairs
assigned between Rentman
accounts.
The Communication Log sub-module
is also not
limited
to the messages you send, but also includes
those sent by other
users.
The access to the information depends
on your
user permissions.
