If you no longer want Claude AI or ChatGPT to access your Rentman data via MCP, you can either disconnect or delete the connection. This article explains the difference between the two and walks you through how to fully remove access from both sides.
| Disconnect | temporarily turns the connection off. The AI tool stops being able to use Rentman MCP, but your configuration (server URL, authentication, and tool permissions) stays saved. You can reconnect with one click later, no need to re-authenticate or re-approve permissions. Think of it as logging out. |
| Delete | permanently removes the MCP integration from your account. The configuration, authentication tokens, and granted permissions are wiped. If you want to use it again, you'll need to set it up from scratch, re-enter the server URL, sign in again, and re-approve tool permissions. Think of it as uninstalling. |
Quick rule of thumb:
- Just taking a break or troubleshooting? → Disconnect
- Don't plan to use it again, or want a clean slate? → Delete
How to disconnect or delete in Claude AI
- Open Claude AI and go to Customize > Connectors.
- Find Rentman MCP in the list.
- Click on it to open the connector details.
- Choose either:
- Disconnect to temporarily turn off access, or
- Delete to permanently remove the integration.
- Confirm your choice.
How to disconnect or delete in ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT and go to Settings > Apps.
- Locate Rentman MCP in the list of connected services.
- Click on it to open its settings.
- Choose either:
- Disconnect to pause the connection, or
- Delete to permanently remove it.
- Confirm your choice.
Important: Also remove access in Rentman
Disconnecting or deleting the MCP connection in Claude AI or ChatGPT only removes access from the AI tool's side. To make sure access is fully removed, you also need to revoke the permission in Rentman.
To revoke the permission in Rentman:
- In Rentman, go to the Configuration module.
- Go to User Roles and select the relevant user role and click Edit.
- Search for 'Access for AI assistant via MCP'.
- Uncheck the box.
- Save.
Once both sides are updated, the MCP integration will no longer have access to your Rentman data.
