You can mark equipment as defective in both the Maintenance module and the Warehouse module. After doing so, you can create a new repair for that equipment item in the Maintenance module.
When creating the repair, you can choose whether the defective equipment item or serial number should remain in stock while it is being repaired.

- Navigate to the Status field
- Open the dropdown menu
- Select Unrepairable
Once selected, the 'Repair Period' end date is automatically set to the moment the status is updated.
Your equipment stock levels will be updated automatically to reflect the item’s status:
For serialized equipment, the associated serial number will be deactivated:
Add a repair from the Warehouse module
When booking equipment in the Warehouse module, you can mark an item as lost or defective.
This keeps your equipment tracking accurate, as items are only marked as returned once they are physically back in the warehouse.
For more details on how this works, see the related article.
