In Rentman, you can generate multiple invoices for your projects. It's essential for your company to keep tabs on which invoices have been settled. In this article, we show different ways you can achieve this. 

How to mark an invoice as paid in projects

The most common way to mark your invoice as paid is in your respective projects.

  1. Access your project via the table_chart Projects > select the project of your choice.
  2. Select the financial tab of the project.
  3. Under Invoices > Status column > select the status. 
  4. Select "Fulfill Outstanding Amount" to report the full amount or "Add Payment" for a partial payment.
  5. Fill in the appropriate amount and description of payment.
  6. Confirm.

How to mark an invoice as paid in invoices module

Users can also view all their invoices across their workspace in the Invoice Module. From there, you can also mark invoices and edit any invoice you like. 

  1. Select monetization_on Financial > Invoices

  3. Select "Fulfill Outstanding Amount" to report the full amount or "Add Payment" for a partial payment.
  4. Confirm.

Tip: Hover your mouse over an invoice and select the details button. Get a quick glance at the selected invoice's status, payment history and payment reminders. 

How to mark an invoice as paid in the invoice itself 

Another way to mark an invoice as paid is to do it while viewing the invoice itself. 

  1. Click into and view the invoice of your choice.
  2. Right side menu besides Payments > Edit Payments.
  3. Select "Fulfill Outstanding Amount" to report the full amount or "Add Payment" for a partial payment.
  4. Confirm.

Partial payments for Invoices

  1. Access the invoice of your choice either in the project or invoice module.
  2. Select the invoice of your choice > Edit Payments. 
  3. Select Add payment > fill in your date, method and amount. 
  4. Rentman will automatically calculate the outstanding amount. 
  5. If the amount is fufilled, the outstanding balance will remain zero and your invoice's status will be updated to paid.

How can I send a reminder for a payment when an invoice is overdue?
Reminders can be created in either the invoice itself and within the invoice module. See this article on invoice reminders. 
Can I create a refund receipt/credit note?
Credit notes can be created in either the project's financial tab or the invoices module.
  • Select the More options more_vert button in the project's financial tab > create credit note. 
  • Right click an invoice in the invoices module > create credit note. 
Is there a way to mark an invoice as paid automatically?
