If you're new to using Rentman or unsure where to begin, this guide gives you a quick overview of how equipment works and how to plan it within your projects. You'll also see how availability, stock, and shortages connect directly to your project timelines.
The Equipment module
You can add and edit your equipment in the category Equipment module. In Rentman, you can create different equipment types, such as a physical item, physical combination and virtual combination.
This is where all your equipment details come together. The category Equipment module acts as your central database - just double-click on any item to see pricing, stock levels, and more. Need to check availability or solve shortages? Simply select the item and click “Open timeline” for a quick view.
For detailed steps, see: Create Equipment - Basic Setup.
The Projects module
The table_chart Projects module is where all your project details come together. Choose from different views—like a calendar—to match your preferred way of working.
In this article, you’ll learn how to create a basic equipment-only project.
And in this article, we’ll walk you through creating a rental project where you’ll schedule crew members on functions and add the equipment you plan to rent.
For detailed information about projects, see: General project information.
Adding equipment to a project
In Rentman, you can plan your equipment items, virtual and physical combinations, and accessories. Within the Equipment tab of your project, you have the ability to determine which items to include in your plan and how they will be presented on your quote.
For detailed steps, see: Plan Equipment on a Project.
Solving an equipment shortage
Once you've added an equipment item to a project, it is automatically planned for that project. However, if you've planned more of an item than you have in stock, the project will show a shortage for that item.
In this article, you will find everything you need to know to solve an equipment shortage from within a project.
For detailed information on solving equipment shortages, see: Guide to Solving Equipment Shortages.
